7 Ways To Stop Procrastinating

Everyone wants to be productive, especially when there is a lot on their plate. Our concentration on the work, rather than time, is frequently difficult. Many of us procrastinate and become distracted, wasting crucial work time. This not only delays the completion of the task but also costs us valuable time that could be spent on other important tasks. Fortunately, there are several approaches and strategies you may employ to avoid distractions and finish focused tasks. Let's go through seven key strategies for avoiding distractions and completing tasks without procrastinating.

1. Create a to-do list.

It may seem obvious, but making a list of what needs to be done will help you be more productive. We may procrastinate because we are overwhelmed by the work at hand. Establish a list of everything that needs to be done and make a strategy for what to accomplish first. Crossing items off a list is quite rewarding for most people and can help you feel more driven to get things done. There are other strategies for building a to-do list, so explore to see what works best for you. If pen and paper aren't your preferred way, there are several applications and electronic options for creating a to-do list.

2. Say "no" to social media

When it comes to distractions, one of the most common culprits is social media or the internet when trying to do concentrated work. Turn off alerts and close any unnecessary Internet browsers to reduce distractions. You may also put your phone in another room. As a result, you are less likely to check it while working.

3. Break it down into smaller steps.

It might be difficult to stay motivated when working on large tasks since they can appear overwhelming. When finishing tasks, divide major projects into smaller steps. Consider creating a checklist for each small step and marking them off one by one. It is critical to take breaks every 45 minutes or such. While taking breaks may appear to be a waste of time. According to research, you are making yourself more productive in the long term. Setting timers every 45 minutes is an efficient approach to keep to this technique. In this manner, you can work productively and then take a break when the timer goes off to listen to music or headphones.

4. Listening to music or reducing background noise.

When it comes to background noise while working, everyone has different tastes. However, it is a good general rule to keep background noise to a minimum when attempting to focus on a task. This may be accomplished by using headphones or earplugs to block out distracting noises. According to research, instrumental music might aid improve focus and concentration. Consider listening to an instrumental playlist the next time you need to concentrate on anything essential.

5. Master your work environment

Consider the environment in which you are working. Is it loud? What is the current temperature? What about the atmosphere? Consider how you feel while you are working in this environment. Are you more worried or relaxed? Consider what small changes or tweaks you can make to your workstation to improve it. Perhaps this involves moving to a new location or making simple improvements to improve your working environment. Working in a productive environment is essential for getting things done.

6. Clean your desk.

Clean up your desk before you begin working. This will also assist you in getting into the proper mentality for accomplishing work. While tidying your office may appear to be a difficult chore, some people enjoy reorganising their workspace from time to time for a fresh feel and new inspiration. Consider removing any unnecessary things from the area. Similarly to how you would reduce aural distractions. It is also a good idea to eliminate visual distractions. Remove everything that might distract you or induce you to stray from your job.

7. Reward yourself for hard work.

The imagined reward is usually what drives us to accomplish an activity. A well-done task or a successful project may not be enough of a prize. Consider creating a self-rewarding mechanism. When you finish a task, reward yourself with a nice book or your favourite meal. Maybe you'll work for a few hours and then do something fun for yourself. Whatever it is, it is critical to discover what is fulfilling and motivating to you. Having something to look forward to after finishing a task may provide you with the motivation you need to do it. Everyone's definition of motivation is different. Finding the concentration, desire, and motivation to accomplish a task, on the other hand, will help you go through and finish it. Use these suggestions to your advantage and discover what motivates you to complete the important activities in your everyday life.

7 Students Money Saving Tips

All of us studied those dreadful algorithms and mathematical formulas back in our school days. Still, none of us has ever been taught by our education system - the importance of money management. The little bit of knowledge we have today is the courtesy of our parents. However, the management skills they taught us are not enough in today's actual world. If you're receiving a monthly allowance from your parents, but still living your life tightly, then it's time you evaluate your money management skills and start working on them. No need to get panic. You don't have to be a math genius to set financial goals. I have rounded up seven tips that you will find helpful on your money management journey.

1. Start your month with a budget and follow it rigidly.

We all know how much money we make a month. But when do we know how much money we spend on our groceries, dinners, movies, clothes and other stuff we usually do? Most of us don't. After spending money irresponsibly throughout the month, we hope that we don't overdraw our bank account at the end of it, but organising our money with a budget is the only way to control our spending. Making a budget is undeniably dull but think of the value that it will bring to your life. Few hours of your time and you will be surprised how much money you can save from doing those unnecessary things. A simple rule is you aim to spend 50% of your income on monthly needs and activities and use the rest either for your emergency fund or to pay off the debt to limit your non-budgeted spending.

2. Make realistic financial plans.

Are you planning for a holiday or want a big car or a big house? Nothing is impossible if you have a solid plan to achieve it. Good planning will make your path clearer. If you're planning to visit your favourite country by the end of this year, you must know how much money you will need to save each month once you have a financial plan. You wouldn't need to worry about how you will make it happen to create multiple income streams. You never know what the future holds for you.

3. Relying solely on your monthly allowance isn't an intelligent decision.

If you are still receiving allowances from your parents and do anything, it's time for you to grow up. Diversifying your income stream is a great idea, especially in these uncertain times. Find different ways to earn extra cash, whether it's only RM50 a month. There is no need for you to go big. Instead, you can start from something small. For example, you can become an online tutor, work part-time or even sell products online in different marketplaces.

4. Focus on regular savings.

If you want to become financially stable, you must commit to everyday protection. You can't just do it one month and leave it the next month. But if you're still bad at savings, you can also set an automatic transfer from your checking account to your regular account. It would be best to have enough savings in your account that will cover at least two to four months of your expenses during unfortunate times.

5. Always make conscious spending decisions.

Spending money has become hard in this digital age since everything is just a click away from us. But who would be best if you started paying close attention to every penny you spend. When you go to the grocery store, check the prices first. Or, if you're purchasing something online, stop for a minute and ask yourself, why do I need it? The small changes will help you in the long run, and you will become aware of how much money you wasted on things that you weren't even aware of.

6. Keep a spending record in a journal

Another problem in this modern world is people have stopped making writing journals. Most of us rely on our online bank statements, and as a result, we are never able to keep track of our spending. Most of the time, we unknowingly overspend and exceed our budget. Thus, it would be best to hold yourself accountable by recording everything you purchase. Save the receipts and write the amount in your journal to identify areas where you must hold yourself back.

7. Pay off the debt.

Do you know the most significant roadblock to fulfilling your dreams and achieving your goals? Debt, student loans, Wifi lines etc., all create hurdles if not paid off on time. So make a debt payoff strategy and start by adding up all the debt amount and their interest. Now try to avoid late fees on these loans as much as possible by making the minimum payment of each debt. You can also set up an automatic transfer to make sure you never miss a single charge. You will not be able to work on all of the tips mentioned right away. Your habits will change over time. But always remember that a little hard work will go a long way for you and help you stay financially healthy.

5 SEO tips to improve your business

Today, we'll go over five SEO techniques you should start using right away.

Tip 1: Brand influences SEO.

Your brand is one of the most straightforward strategies to rank higher in SEO. Google understands that genuine companies are less likely to spread false news. They often have a high CTR of persons looking for their brand name. As a result, your total rankings for all other keywords improve. It demonstrates your authority, so first establish your brand.

Tip 2: Connect your keyword to tools.

We already know that links aid in ranking. You can produce links by creating content and infographics, but generating more links is simpler by creating free tools and giving them out. I achieved it with Ubersuggests, and you can do it too by visiting sites like Code Canyon and downloading some free tools. You'll notice that your website's release gets considerably more backlinks than content.

Tip 3: Consider the user experience.

User experience is all about speed, and Google PageSpeed Insights has an excellent tool that tells you how you're scoring and make sure you're scoring higher every time you write an article. Pay attention to your speed and, more significantly, the user experience that you're providing. Because if the user experience is terrible and people bounce because they aren't getting what they need, then those signals will hurt you.

Tip 4: Keywords are essential.

SEO is more than just a text-based or Google game. There's SEO everywhere with blog articles online. Consider keywords and the sort of material you want to generate; this will aid in discoverability. Remember that people search around on Instagram, YouTube and most social networks. Instead of merely all right, consider SEO for all sorts of content holistically.

Key Takeaway

It may appear simple to develop a keyword and connect to it online. However, all of this takes work, and most individuals are unwilling to put in the effort for SEO when they can receive instant hits through other channels. So, if you take advantage of this and put in the time and effort, you will have an advantage in attracting your target consumers.

8 Reasons to Attend University Open Days

As a final-year university student with three years of experience working on open days, I'm here to discuss why students should attend university open days. You may be too timid or introverted to ask "silly" questions before attending university, but trust me, nobody will judge you.

If you're wondering whether or not to go, consider the following:

1. Get important information sessions

You may have heard of the course you are interested in before, for example, Bachelor of Mass Communication, but you have never really experienced a class; some universities provide classroom experiences for students, and this may be a good opportunity for you to learn.

2. Learn about scholarships

Every institution provides scholarships for various faculties; you do not need to have a high-grade point average in your prior exams. For example, as an international student at my university, I received a 30% discount. You could be qualified for university scholarships, so speak with one of the counsellors to learn more.

3. Familiarize yourself with the modules

A single-subject may be taught in a hundred different ways using a hundred different modules. Some institutions are more practical than others, some are more academic, some rely on assignments, and some have no coursework and rely only on examinations and exams. Going to an open day will help you grasp the course framework as well as the detailed modules, allowing you to determine whether or not you like the course/university.

4. Talk to the lecturers

You will not only learn about the modules, but you will also be able to ask questions that you have been unable to answer. You may also get a glimpse of their teaching style and decide if you'll be motivated and excited to study during their lectures or completely zone out and think about what to eat for lunch. Please keep in mind that professors are human beings, just like your secondary school teacher; don't be scared to approach them with respect; it'll be the first step toward moving ahead.

5. Tour the campus

During the campus tour, you will have the opportunity to examine the university's facilities. You get a sense of what to anticipate in class, where to have lunch, and where to go for support if you run into problems.

6. Push yourself out of your comfort zone

Knowing that you are embarking on a new road is difficult, but it is your action that is truly transforming you. If you go to the open day on your own, I guarantee you'll be ready to start university since you know how to make your own decisions. If you are frightened to go to the open day alone, you might ask your parents to accompany you and offer you advice as your parents are still your financial rock regardless.

7. Meet new people

Who knows, you can meet a new buddy who is interested in the same course as you and start bonding during the information sessions.

8. Get a free goods bag/present

Every institution will absolutely give out free gifts or items to visitors, whether it's a university pen or just some coffee treats, you'll definitely get some home. Who doesn't like free stuff?
